Get Ready for Spring With Some New Sunglasses

The temperature is warming up and the sun is shining brighter, which means Spring is around the corner.  We’re beyond ready to put our coats away, and take out our shorts. But before we get ahead of ourselves, let's start small with updating our sunglasses in anticipation for sunnier skies!

One thing to consider, regardless of weather, is to try out glasses that compliment your face shape.  Don’t worry if you’re not sure what works best for you — here’s a refresher.

Heart

Heart shaped faces tend to have more wide-set foreheads and become more narrow towards the jaw.  So to best compliment that shape, you can try a cat-eye.  Both glasses styles have a wider top and more narrow bottoms - mimicking the angles of your face.

Round

If you have a round face shape, your widest facial point is your cheekbones — and you tend to narrow at the jaw and forehead.  So to compliment the roundness, we suggest trying oversized or square shaped sunglasses.  Feel free to play with the size and shape of those styles.

Oval

Oval shaped faces are more long than they are wide.  With that, shape is less important when considering your Spring sunglasses.  The focus here is balance and size rather than the general shape. One of our favorite styles that compliments nearly every face shape is Cruz, the classic aviator.  This shape is a great option because it compliments your face and doesn’t expand past the width of your face.  You can also try a trendy oversized pair that can also be the perfect choice.

Square

Square shaped faces have wider foreheads, pronounced cheekbones, and a strong jawline.  So the goal of your search is to find the perfect shape that softens and highlights your features.  So we’d suggest trying out a round shape, or even going adventurous with a stylish shield.

How Bold Should You Go?

Now that you’ve narrowed down what shape works for you, it’s time have fun with colors and details.  Spring fashion is all about bringing vibrant colors back into the mix, so don’t be afraid to have more fun with your sunnies.

For some, it’s a longer journey to a life of technicolor glasses, so let’s start off more subtly. Colored lenses are an easy way to add fun to your classic styled frames. Becky is one of our favorite cat-eye sunnies that add style to every outfit.  And with lenses ranging from matte black to bold blue, you are sure to find the right pair (or pairs) for you!

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, but still want sunglasses that work for everyday, try a bright colored frame.  One example is our best selling polarized aviator, the Dash.  These sunnies are a modern aviator, highlighted by its vibrant wire frame.  This updated version of everyone’s favorite shape is perfect for nearly every occasion. If you’re looking to go for bold, Bella is a popular style and a definite showstopper.  They’re the perfect oversized glasses to welcome the warm weather.

Now, if you’re ready to go for bold, we suggest going for a bright frame and a colorful lens.  This is the perfect option for a weekend warrior ready for friends, fun, and fashion. We think these Robin Arzon sunglasses might be exactly what you’re looking for!  With its oversized shield shape and multiple color options, you’re sure to stand out all season long.

As you know, Spring transitions the weather from Winter to Summer, and we think that’s the best way to process finding your new glasses this season. Choosing the perfect Spring sunglasses is all about adding the right statement to your transitioning wardrobe. Some might be more subtle and others, more bold.  But ultimately, it’s all about what works for you!
