Pay with FSA HSA for prescription or reading glasses

Use Your FSA or HSA on DIFF Eyewear

You can use your FSA or HSA dollars on eligible eyewear at DIFF and save with pre-tax funds.

Prescription eyeglasses are generally eligible, and prescription sunglasses may also qualify. If you have an HSA or FSA card, you can use it at checkout just like any other payment card.

If you don’t have your card available, you can still place your order using a regular credit or debit card and then submit your order receipt to your plan administrator for reimbursement.

How It Works

1. Shop eligible eyewear

Choose the frames and prescription lenses that work for you.

2. Pay with your FSA or HSA card at checkout

If your benefits card is approved, your order is complete.

3. Submit for reimbursement if needed

If you use another payment method, save your order confirmation and receipt and submit them to your FSA or HSA provider.

What May Be Eligible

Eligible items may include:

  • Prescription eyeglasses
  • Prescription sunglasses
  • Reading glasses
  • Prescription lenses and lens upgrades related to your vision needs

What Is Not Eligible

Some items may not qualify, including:

  • Non-prescription sunglasses
  • Non-prescription blue light glasses
  • Accessories and care items

Eligibility can vary by plan, so we always recommend checking with your FSA or HSA administrator if you’re unsure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my FSA or HSA card directly on DIFFEyewear.com?

Yes. If your card supports the purchase, you can use it at checkout like any other payment method. Just select FLEX as the alternate payment option at checkout.

What if my FSA or HSA card is declined?

You can complete your purchase with a different payment method and then submit a custom invoice to your provider for reimbursement. Just ask DIFF support for this invoice and we are happy to share it with you.

Do I need vision insurance to use my FSA or HSA?

No. FSA and HSA funds are separate from vision insurance benefits.

Can I use FSA or HSA funds for sunglasses?

Prescription sunglasses may be eligible. Non-prescription sunglasses usually are not.

Can I use FSA or HSA funds for blue light glasses?

Non-prescription blue light glasses may not be eligible. If you are purchasing prescription eyewear, eligibility may depend on your plan.

What documentation should I keep?

Keep your order confirmation, receipt, and any prescription information your provider may request.
